Sue is a life long lover of dogs, and at the tender age of 6 years old wanted to be a dog groomer after she was given a toy poodle, Tina, a few years earlier.
However, on leaving school Sue trained to be a Secretary and spent the rest of her employed years in Administration positions, ending her employed capacity in 2016 when she left her Research & Development Support Team Manager position at De Montfort University (DMU) Sue decided to leave DMU following breast cancer and decided life was too short to not follow her childhood dream.
Sue trained at L.A. Spa & Groom in Leicestershire, U.K., and opened her own grooming salon in a bespoke cabin in her garden. She had already decided she wanted to use Tellington TTouch Training and her canine behaviour knowledge to help dogs cope better, but had never planned to take the journey to become one of the leading experts in Canine Grooming Behaviour across the world. Sue was the first groomer to introduce Animal Centred Education Free Work into the grooming salon to introduce new dogs into salon.
Since 2016 Sue has continued to study dog behaviour and has achieved a number of qualifications and has a passion for sharing her knowledge and expertise, so that more groomers and dogs can have a calm, safe, groomer experience.
As well as delivering online and in person courses for dog groomers, in 2019 Sue published her first book Taking the Grrr out of Grooming Your Dog, followed by Taking the Grrr out of the Grooming Salon and Introducing Your Puppy to Grrr-less grooming.
Sue as delivered her knowledge to 1000's of groomers, dog owners, and other canine professionals across the world via her online education platform, in person courses and as guest speaker on webinars and podcasts.
Sue lives in Leicestershire in the U.K. and still grooms from her cabin where her priority is always how the dogs feel rather than look.
Sue has been married to her husband Paul since 1982, and has two married sons Matt & Ash with daughter in laws Naomi & Saskia, and gorgeous grandson Zander. Sue & Paul live alongside miniature poodles Ritzi & Chic, and working cocker Talis.
